Strengthening the momentum of industrial growth and investment in the country, PepsiCo India has officially inaugurated a new food manufacturing plant in Assam. According to the available information, an investment of approximately Rs 778 crore has been made for this new project. Through this plant, there is potential for a significant transformation in the food processing industry and the manufacturing sector of the state.
At present, various initiatives are being taken to develop the North-Eastern region as one of the country's most important industrial and agri-based hubs. The investment of such a large amount of capital by an established multinational company like PepsiCo in Assam reflects the state's investment-friendly environment. This will open paths for direct and indirect employment and facilitate the proper utilization and market access for locally produced agricultural goods.
This manufacturing plant will not only play a crucial role in the state's economy but will also bring new momentum to the overall rural development and agriculture-based economy of the entire North-East. The operational efficiency of the plant and how local farmers will benefit from it will become clearer in the coming days.
