A significant advancement has occurred in India's defense and aircraft manufacturing sector. Renowned Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer and leading Indian industrial group Mahindra have selected the city of Nagpur in Maharashtra for the potential assembly line of the C-390 military aircraft in the country. This decision will open a new path for foreign partnership and domestic industrial collaboration in India's defense production sector.
The C-390 is a modern cargo and military transport aircraft. Establishing this assembly line in Nagpur will not only meet the requirements of the Indian defense forces but also pave the way for manufacturing advanced technology aircraft locally. This is also likely to increase employment opportunities in the country's aerospace sector.
Currently, this project is in the feasibility study and preliminary phase. This joint effort by Embraer and Mahindra will support the government's goal of making India a major hub for the manufacturing and export of defense equipment. It is expected that more details regarding the blueprint and implementation of this project will emerge in the coming days.
