The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has recently taken strong preventive measures, dealing a blow to the country's smuggling network. According to reports, the department managed to dismantle an organized gold smuggling syndicate in Gujarat, seizing 13 kg of foreign-origin gold. The international market value of this gold is estimated to be approximately 19.41 crore rupees. Three individuals associated with the operation have been arrested in this case.
In a parallel operation, the DRI has demonstrated agility against drug trafficking across the country. As a result of this operation, 7 kg of amphetamine and 3 kg of high-potency cocaine have been recovered. Three more traffickers have been detained on charges of involvement in this drug smuggling. According to the concerned department, such criminal activities have a negative impact on the country's economy and security system.

It is noteworthy that the number of such DRI operations has increased in recent months. The department has intensified its technical intelligence systems to curb these illegal processes, particularly those centered around sea routes and border areas. Investigations into these cases are still ongoing, and more information is expected to emerge in the coming days.
Breaking down such smuggling cycles is crucial for the country's financial transparency and the safety of the younger generation. Currently, legal proceedings are underway to bring these criminals to justice. This step by the DRI once again reflects the government's strict stance against economic crimes.
